I was about to go to bed (and what do you hold in your arms at bedtime, well more often than not .....?). Beside that, I had just watched a deliciously “passé” movie (B&W) starring Jacqueline Maillan, Louis de Funès and the – very young at the time – Mireille Darc, who spent her time wandering around in a very suggestive bikini. And I can tell you there was more waist than waste!Luc Charliernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6219646897587177986.post-9903167940788521072011-01-09T21:06:11.555+01:002011-01-09T21:06:11.555+01:00Both mean a lot to me: developped a deeper interes...Both mean a lot to me: developped a deeper interest in the English tongue when I discovered Zimmy’s texts (I was 14), and chose Claus as subject for my endwork at the end of secundary school (already the mature age of 17 then!). Don’t waist your precious time (if you see the reference) on his so-called “masterpiece” (when I painted my ....) “Het verdriet van België”, which is only fascinating if you know the country well. Moreover, it did not age well. But I think “De geruchten”, “Omtrent Deedee” en “De hondsdagen” may appeal to you, because of their atmosphere. He might have, though, ‘cause he was a great novellist, a playwright of talent and a fabulous poet. On the other hand, Bob Dylan is still in the running.<br />But Hugo Claus sang better ...Luc Charliernoreply@blogger.com
